Poeedit is a multiplatform gettex catalog editor to aid the process of language localization. Using Poedit you can easily translate WordPress Plugins into different languages. First of all, download the free version of Poedit software & install it on your system.

By using Poedit you need to open .pot file to create new .po file & convert .po file into .mo file. It is necessary to convert the .po file to .mo file because the machine can only read the binary files like .mo file. The steps are listed below:

  • Download & Install Poedit.
  • Open Poeedit and click on “Create New Translation”
  • From your plugin package move to the language folder.
  • Choose the .po language file you need to translate.
  • Once you select the file, now you can select the language you want to translate.
  • By click on “save as” create new .po file in the language folder.
  • Click on Edit > Find (Ctrl + F) and write the string name that you want to translate.
  • Once everything is done click on “Save”
  • Now Login to your WordPress dashboard > setting > Choose a language to translate.

  • Text domain
  • File Prefix

Now click on Overview > + Add New Language

By clicking on the “+New Language” button you need to choose the preferred language you want to translate. Once everything is done click on the “Strat Translating” button and save your configuration.
